My Dad has only one thing to say about birthdays, “it’s better than the alternative”.
I’ll agree with that.
I turned 41 at the beginning of the month. Not as much fanfare as last year on my actual bday. I had a big zombie themed bday and it was fun. But it was a great day.
Then, TONS of fun going to wine and chocolate festival with girlfriends that weekend after! Way too much fun and belly laughs. Hilarious memories I get to keep forever.
Birthdays don’t bother me. Sometimes I reflect on the number and think, crap, I’m really mid-life. But, it passes quickly. For many my people my age wasn’t mid-life. I’ve known many that didn’t make it this far or only lived a little bit past this age. For those that lived short lives, I’ve known more to live in their 80’s and 90’s. Maybe it’s why I love to chat and work with seniors so much?
I won’t go into private conversations at this time that I’ve had with my Dad, but I take what he treasures to heart. He should have died twice before he even met my Mom. He appreciates everything he’s been given and all these extra years. I can expand on that and be thankful as well. Why not?
It brought me to revisit my 25 before 50 post from last year.
I hadn’t looked at it in many months. It’s impossible to cross things off in the next 9 years if I don’t look at the list. I only have 9 years to get it done lol
I’m going to snag 3 things from the list to get started on or accomplish.
- I have 3 tattoo’s on my list so I want to get one of them.
- I’m training for the Sound to Narrows and hope to get my time close to 1 hour. This also helps work on my weight.
- Let’s start my hubbies fire dept scrapbook!
Now there’s a plan. Goal date will be June 15. The Sound to Narrows is June 14th.
Someone want to come over and clean my scrapbook room out for me…AGAIN!
